Man, when is Sony gonna release Nehalem laptops already :( I so want a Sony display only - the only reason I am still waiting.

WOW! can't wait! And damn that's cheap!
What is special about Sony display?

They are extremely good. For example the 11" TT series has a 1366x768 display that is extremely easy to view (and for a longer time). I have not seen anything that good with other OEMs. Most of their 17/18" have FullHD resolution.
It could be that they work better for my eyes, but I doubt they would be so expensive just because of the Sony name (some Sony laptops differ in displays only but the price diff. is 1000$).

X-brite is good, but I've seen great displays in the SXPS 16 and HP ENV15 too.
The other non-premium notebooks however are pretty pathetic in this sense.
Anyone see the GMA there? Now that it's nearly decent you don't get decent discrete until expensive models, wow.

Interestingly the 11/13" Sony laptops use nVidia 9400 not GMA!

My Lifebook Tablet's IPS display still smokes my Vaio TX's Xbrite TN screen :p:
But unfortunately it's no match in the resolution and consumption department...

Anyone know what the (2x2) in
Wireless 802.11 b/g/n (2x2)
means?
RaZz!

2 transmit and 2 receive radio (2,4 as well as 5ghz), which means it uses both bands at the same time and (theoretically) doubles the throughput of the respective wlan (only relevant to 802.11n though).

this time around I'm definitely looking into display quality more...
Can't stand my 45deg viewing angle on my HP6710 anymore.
It's sad that it is pretty hard to deduct which model of what brand has the good screen!:(

TX is quite old, I don't know what it's like compared to current TT/Z/AW series. (same resolution though)
LED backlight might actually be the reason it feels much better for me. I can actually tell the diff. between the 3 vs. 6 lamp LCDs in the 17" series (or maybe 18" I don't recall)

1002€ could have made it 999€
Anyway do you guys expect these to run more silent than current core2duos at the same frequency or louder?
My concern is: since all is now in one chip they only get to use one cooler, and that one may require more airflow to produce the same operating temps of the chip.

There's also a 17", i7 model on that site - quite cool! Why aren't any of those models listed on Sony websites though?
Oh, off topic - now we know GT310/GT320/GT330 are all just renames :D

Core i3 is not that interesting. Now i5 is where my attention is :)
Really hoping for an i5 520M + ATI 5000 series combination. Switchable graphics (better battery life) + great performance. HP Envy 14 here I come :D

i7-720 is what I'm eyeing - comes with 17" screen as well ;) I really don't care for graphics since I'd never play on a laptop.
