Can one Sli 2x 8800GT's on an X58 board? I know x58 didn't support 8 series cards on launch but I would like to know if any updates have changed that?

I dont know that X58 boards do not support 8-series cards sli on launch. I have doubt on this as I have used Asus P6T Deluxe (X58) when it first came out (about 1 year ago ?) and used two 8800GTX SLI with it. It worked just fine. I have now switched to another X58 board and it still works fine with the two 8-series cards in SLI.

I ran two of them on the classified with no problems, even ran 8800 GS.

Really? I would have thought it would support just about every PCIe card.

I have an ECS x58 and it will support my 8800 GTS in sli from day one, using xp pro and win7. good luck.

My EVGA x58 micro ran my two XFX 8800gt in SLI without a problem; that was before my micro died.
