ok I have a stupid question and I never really thought about it before. what is the safe VTT voltage for a dualie 45NM cpu?? I know all about the safe vcore 1.475v and the safe PLL 1.750V but what about VTT?? VTT is a major key in stability and I have taken it up to 1.65V for short times but never 24/7. im looking for a nice 4.4/4.5GHZ 24/7 oc. I know my cpu can handle it at 1.4500V vcore but in this boards bios anything over 1.5022V VTT says its very dangerous and can kill the cpu. some boards bios say that about 1.3V cpu volts so im just trying to cover my bases you know. if this is a dumb question please dont hesitate to slap :slap: me . FOXconn black opps is the board BTW 4GB crucial Tracer reds DDR3 E8400 1000W psu etc etc

I think the majority is going to say 1.4v for vtt should be your max for 24/7 clocks. I've had it to 1.6v+ too, and there was even a thread a year ago on this forum of a guy running 3 different crunching machines and test some voltage myths. He ran 1 rig with like 1,6v VTT, 1 rig with like 1,9 PLL and 1 rig with like 1.6vcore crunching 24/7 for many months straight. Not a single CPU showed any degradation. Let me see if I can find that thread for you. Contained quite some interesting information.

For me on Good Air Cooling and 24/7 use its 1.45VCore+1.45VTT, I ain't really got a figure for .PLL but above too much 1.55v seems to add nothing for me. I got to these figures by lots of reading on multiple sites.

I do not know where all the peeps seem to get the miss information about that being too high and CPU's degrading as there is no proof that the above voltages degrade it any faster than any overvolt/overclock.

I think some are reading the Max Voltage on the Retail CPU box and they then invent BS as its very obv a 45nm CPU with a lower default VCore should not be run at the same voltage that a overclocked 65nm CPU was ran at.

The info is all over this forum multiple times anyhow.

wel thanks guys! I knew that the "degrading" stuff was BS but have read somewhere (dont remember where) that they killed their cpu from running something to high but im not worried as im upgrading soon anyways. thanks for the thread musho

Well it ain't BS in that any CPU thats ran out with specs will have a shorter life but it will be many years still.

Just use common sense and do not pump 1.65 VCore into a 45nm CPU or more so very high VTT or .PLL, both of which will kill a PC far easier than VCore.
