how do i undervolt my case fan??

the fan is the 3pin connector connecting to the mobo. i want it to spin slower, don't want to spend money on a manual controller.

wires are black, red then yellow. i take it ground, 5v, 12v??

Unhook it from the mother board and stick the red wire into the 12V side of a molex connector and the black into the 5V on the same molex. That will give your fan 7V and make it spin slower
