just now, all of a sudden my the fan on my heat sink got a bit louder then normal. i opened up sisoft sandra, checked the fan speed, it was 3950rpm's. normally its 4400 - 4500 rpm's. then it dropped down to 3500 rpms, and then, randomly shot back up to 4400 rpms..

for a few seconds, i thought my fan was dieing, but since its back to normal speeds, what the h*ll happened? :confused:

Maybe now that you are on higher clocks, your psu has problems of keeping up?
Can you check your voltage lines? :)

this is at stock speeds. i dont bother OC'ing it unless im actually gonna use the extra mhz. ;)

in sandra:

3.3v = 3.36v
5v = 4.88v
12v = 11.95v

but, the fan speed is back at 4500rpm with those... i didnt check when it was down at 3500rpm...:confused:

EDIT: also, i think my psu is 230W, but all i have in there is a radeon 9100, and an amd t-bird... so i dont think thats any problem.

230W....and that's usually a rating for VERY favorable conditions (temperture of the PSU, etc.)...I would seriously suggest upgrading your PSU ASAP. Seriously, I don't understand how all these people can spend a bunch of money for a "performance" system and then see just how LITTLE they can spend on their power supply. Let me be the first to say, DON'T SKIMP ON A POWER SUPPLY! :)
