So I have a Logitech 5300 I think it is 5.1 surround anyways. and a creative x-fi card. So my Right front channel seems to be borked today (no sound out of it). So I was like son of a b..... So I installed new drivers and console and such from creative thinking this might fix it nope... So now I am trying to figure out wtf is going on but I'm stumped. I dunno if it could be a windows thing or if my receiver that is attached to the sub in Logitech fasion went bad, but seems odd only one did?

My Right center does not get anything when I do the channel tests.

I tested the speaker in a different channel and the speaker works just fine.
Only thing I notice when the channel test moves around to the "front right" sounds real low coming from the sub.

Any ideas? :shrug:

Also found out if I adjust the green plug in the back just right I can get 2.1 in my headphones. well maybe not 2.1 but when its plugged in normally I only hear in my left ear. But when the plugs like 1/4 out and turned a bit I get sound in both headphones. But unfortunately still no 5.1 when I switch over to speakers.

So now wtf.. When I do the channel test with my headphones on I get "Left Channel" in both ears but I don't hear right channel.

Fixed, turns out the audio cable works when it wants to work. I don't get how it works perfectly to get some sound but not the right channel. Go figure, so I'm using a spare 3.5mm cable I think it is. Anyone know what 3 male 3.5mm cables with 3 3.5mm cables on both sides are called?

First, make sure that when you do the Speaker test that CMSS3D or any Receiver Matrix surround is disabled. This doesn't matter if you're using analog or digital. Make sure the receiver/preamp, etc... is set to Direct Mode or Stereo so it isn't doing its own CMSS3D like feature. Another good reason to use Analog only.

One's a Video Camera Composite Cable. It's made Identical to the Creative Labs Proprietary Cable for 6.1 and 7.1 HTPC cable.
Normal connection;
Light Green = Front
Black = Rear
Orange = Center/Sub
Gray = 6.1 rear Center and or 7.1 rear surround.

Creative's equal
Light Green = Front
Black = Rear
Orange = Center/Sub, 6.1 rear Center and or 7.1 rear surround. All with one 4 pin Jack.

Here we see the two Orange Jacks combined.

Some smart guy/girl (sarcasm) wanted to cut down on the amount of 3.5mm inputs on the I/O bracket. They combined the digital and Mic = Flexi-Jack, then made the Center/Sub jack Multi-Jack. That one input is meant for Front Center, Sub and Rear Speakers because when set to 6.1 or 7.1, the 5.1 Rear speaker become the Side speakers. That setting is also switchable.
