Hello,

I'll be building a system with a core i7 and a GTX-275.

I'm considering getting the Vantec ION-620.

Would it provide decent power?

Im not to sure on Vantec products but i have a mate who works in a pc store and he says they come back fairly often maybe go for a Enermax , corsair or seasonic 650w?

Don't cheap out on a PSU. A failing PSU can take down many other components with them, which is going to cost more to replace than buying a better PSU in the first place. You should always get a high quality brand PSU. (Corsair, OCZ, PC Power & Cooling, Antec, etc) just to name a few.

Thanks,

Are Coolermaster Reliable Power Supplies?

Thanks.

they're okay. By that i mean you could probably do better for the same price. But, their UCP lineup is actually pretty good.

/thread. For the i7 920 + GTX 275 setup, I'd suggest any of the following:

Corsair 650TX
Corsair 650HX (modular)
Corsair 750TX
Corsair 750HX (modular)
Antec TruePower TP-650
Antec TruePower TP-750
Seasonic M12 700W
Seasonic M12D 750W

he won't need anywhere near 700W with a GTX 275 and an i7.

if he was pulling 700 watts he would need a 1000 watt min...IMHOl
if he need 500 watts of power then 700 watt power supply would be in line... the i7 can pull a ton of juice depending on how high it is overclocked, plus how many fans, HDD's, water pumps, lights, beer coolers ect..
the PS's that PC_User listed would be great for that setup, as long as the person was not going to add another 275 or 2 and depending on how much overclocking is done.

I barely pull 650W with a GTX 295 and a largely OCed C2D...I doubt an i7 makes up the difference for a single 275.

your OCed dual core and a highly overclocked i7 will have about 150 watts difference. a 275 pulls more than 1/2 of a 295 when they are both at stock levels.

the user never said they were OCing the i7 or the 275

A decent 650W pure power supply would be sufficient. Corsair TX650 or HX650?
