Im gonna be piecing together a 360 for myself. Im looking at dvd drives for em and they all say they need to be flashed? Isnt everything just plug and play?
If you're building a 360, then more than likely the dvd drive you put into it will need to be flashed to be compatible with the games.

there is a key for that the dvd drive has to have or else the MB wont read it, each motherboard has a unique key and it corresponds to a unique drive key for that MB. so if u have a MB u need the key that goes with it. and no u cant recover the key without having the original drive or a drive spoofed to work with that MB. then since u are spoofing a drive its a 100% chance of a live ban so keep it offline
and if u do part one together get a jasper with 16MB of nand and a hitatchi drive to go in it.

If I can im gonna get all oem parts from like a rrod part out or something. I can get everything but the internals for about 25 bucks, then its just finding a board, rom, hd, and heatsinks.
