Need a rough idea of how many people would like to band together so I can sort out bulk buy pricing on these cards :). Europe only im afraid for shipping.

Please could you post below if you want one (and only if you want one - theres another thread for any other info). At a rough guess its probably going to be thursday or friday for ordering, then we need to sort out transferring money over.

I want one, but it's going to depend on the price a bit. ($400 isn't £400 he)

What's the "worst case scenario" price for a card?

Thanks for helping us out, great thing for you to do :)

I would be interested.... not for the first shipment but then when NV30 is out and the price hits bottom:D

Or someone gives me a used one and buys a NV30 as you can see I can hardly
aw8 the time when NV30 is released:D :D

Slovenia is counted as Europe or not????

Yeah strictly speaking I can ship anywhere - its just by the time it arrives thru the post to anywhere except europe (3 day delivery to europe) the damn thing may well be available in the shops wherever you are. Shipping to the states can take easily a week for example, by which time no doubt newegg etc will already have them in stock.

If you guys are sure you want to take the risk of paying extra and having the card available when it arrives thru the mail locally then ive no problem with it :).

£ to $ conversion is roughly £1 = $1.50. I should think that with insured shipping and everything to the states worst case scenario the cost could be as high as $550. I'll have to check and make sure tho. I found a couple more places who received the card in stock this morning, so ill be comparing prices and picking whoever comes out best :). Should have pricing info by friday latest.

Pilsy I'm from Belgium, and a few more people here are. they are practicly all interested in the R9700 (Jupiler, Gamer,...)

Maybe you could ship those together, or maybe I can come and pick them up?? If shipping is very high offcourse :)

If you could take a look at shipping costs per weight etc ..
we (or you) could calculate the prices for (eg 1, 3 , .. cards)

Yep Pilsy do you have an idea about the cost of the card?

S&H will be different for everybody i guess, but the cost of the card is what most of us are interested in.

PiLsY
08-15-2002, 11:05 AM
I wont get a price off them until I knwo how many cards im gonna be ordering :). The way these things go im afraid. we should be looking at about a 5 - 10% saving over standard retail price at least tho. Judging by ATIs previous release prices that means somewhere between 300 and 350 GBP I'd imagine. Ill be leaving it until sunday night so everyone who wants one gets a chance to say so, then i'll go ahead and get a full quote etc.

Pilsy could you check what S&H would be for Belgium for 1 card and for (lets say) 5 Cards at once?

Then I can see if it's worth going over to the UK and picking them up myself???

Thanks in advance

You can check it yourself here (http://afis.postoffice.co.uk/Parcelforce/Internet/CustServGuide/calculator.asp).

5 boxes (about 3kgs?) from UK to Belgium within 48hours: 28£ (€45) with "parcel force wordwide" (recommend parcel service UK).

Pilsy where are you from? Or better what region of UK do you get the cards?

Just to see if it's viable to come over and pick my (and the other cards for Belgium) up myself.

If I came by train I would be in Ashford or London.
By plane I could get to Glassgow,Liverpool and london. But I don't know if I can get several cards with me on a plane

Just to get an idea of how far I would need to travel in the UK. (figure out the travel cost)

Itll be about 60 euros to ship 5 cards over insured m8. Not worth flying over really. FYI the nearest airport to me is manchester - about 35 miles away.

PiLsY, you're making quite some in investments in such a short time; Prometeia & R9700.

As long as our R9700 don't cost 10% extra it's all good ;) j/k

PiLsY/Bigtoe try and ad availability too

thanks

Im still waiting to hear whether its the Pro or bog standard 9700. Remember theres a difference of 25mhz core and mem when you look to buy. Dont forget guys - im not making money off this - its nota question of beating prices. What I can get it for is what I can get it for regardless of whether you can import from the US for cheaper :).

Randi...

The R9700 is a standard vid card, comes with dvi, analogue and standard stuff.

Pro version comes with all sorts of funky stuff (basically like the old all in wonder cards), but most importantly is clocked 25/25 higher :). It costs a lot more due to the extra features (even a radio control i think..), but the most important part is the clock increase. Itll either be higher yield chips or higher rated chips. Either way I want the best one ;).
