newegg doesn't know what they are doing... a while back I posted about cards dissappearing and then reappearing. it was weird. one minute they had the asus 5870...the next the only one that was left was a sapphire 5870...
they will come back...just give it time.
Still beating my 3870X2 to death here. hope to have my system running in full this weekend.

Thats why I said "right now", they had the reference card and the black edition when I posted around 1 hr ago.
When I got my 5870 I checked about every half hour or so and grabbed it as soon as it was available.

TSMC was suppose to increase capacity quite a number of months ago, they finally seem to have done so. AMD/ATi is talking about the number of units going from thousands of units per week to 10k units per week. We should see the results in the next few weeks, hopefully before the end of the year but definitely sometime in Jan at the latest.

Ok that price on that XFX Black edition from their non Black edition is just a damn reap off. I have a XFX 5970 NON Black and am glad I didn't wait for the Black edition.
With the Black Edition you get.
1. Black Edition lettering on the HFS:zombie:
2. Get the OverVolt tool (which can be downloaded AMD OverVolt Tool at TPU)
3. Black Edition Badage:nuts:
Difference of $80 man that better be a GOLD PLATED Badage or something:ROTF:

No, it is just handpicked chips from what XFX is getting from AMD/ATi. There isn't enough supply yet for any specific multiple product binning.

When you could pick up a 5850 for $270, that was a freaking steal.
At newegg they are ~$165 x2 = $330 vs a $310 for a 5850 now.
5770 has a TDP of 108w vs a 5850 at 150w.
5770CF does seem to perform a bit better than a 5850 though.

No, it is just handpicked chips from what XFX is getting from AMD/ATi. There isn't enough supply yet for any specific multiple product binning.
How well are 5770's priced in Canada?

In europe they are just not available at all .
There are shops that just remove it from their stocklist since they don't get any cards in at all .
