Hello XS. I mave me new system built, minus the mater cool stuff.

I scored some stuff from microcenter, BTW dangerous place to have close when you are trying to not spend money.

I have the MSI gd-70 790fx. It has a 4 pin cable on the board for the CPU heatsink fan. Wires on my 965BE C3 are black, yellow, red, then blue.

I understand the blue wire to be the tachometer, and the yellow to be the fan controller?

AMIRITE?

If I am, then how do I get the speed censor from the mcp355 to fit the header? Do I just plug the wire from the mcp355 there and don't worry about it not having the yellow?

Also, I am hellishly confused.

What pumps are equivalent to the MCP355?

Thanks XS. My watercool order waits on these questions.

BTW, I went with the following:

Tagan Black Pearl (painted gloss black inside and out)
MSI 790fx GD-70
8GB of OCZ platinum 1.65v 7-7-7-20
AMD 965BE C3
Powercolor 5870 LCS (when its back in stock)
Corsair HX1000
2x Samsung DVD Drives (one burner)
Swiftech Apogee GTZ
Swiftech 320 QP Rad
Swiftech MCP355 with XSPC Res Top (or equivalent pump)
Primoflex 7/16 ID tubing
Yate Loon High Speed 120mm fans using bottom fan controller to control speed and noise.

I know the rad is rated for low speed, and I have high speed fans, but I would rather turn fans down and be able to turn fans up if needed.

I also have a Rhobeus Sunbeam fan controller to control the top two fans, side panel fans (x2) and I have the coolermaster 4 in 3 bay device with the 120 mm cooling fan, going to get a velociraptor to run OS on, keep my terabyte drive just for storage. I painted it black also.

the 3pin on the mcp355 just has the tac it dosnt power or do anything but give the speed and just plug it in its keyed so u cant mess it up (the power is a molex 4 pin with a 12v and ground only). and with the mcp355 and a top there is nothing equivalent u cn take a 20% or so loss in pressure and 3x the size and get a 655 but its not alike

Thanks all.

Hey Zanzabar, I mean, what Koolance, Laing, etc pump is just a mcp355 with a different name. Each of the three companies have a similar looking pump, now they have the new 18v versions, which ones are just rebranded mcp355's?

Are these just mcp's?

they are all ddc3.2 or 3.25, the swiftech is a 3.2 only but i think that koolance has a 3.25, the 3.25 has a diffrent impeller and its a little better but its nothing spectacular or noticeable. if they are the same price get one thats a ddc3.25
