I'm planning buying a PS3 in black friday and I was planning buying a 1080p

pc monitor, I want to play with my Plantronics 377 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/

Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826265065) but I was

asking my friends and seems theres no way I could hook up in the PS3, I

was watching some monitors though (that had build in speakers) and found

out this (http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/newegg/24-236-046-S11?

$S640W$)...two headphones jack connectors on the monitor so I

was wondering if I plugged the HDMI from the PS3 and plug the headphones

jack in the monitor could it output sound for my plantronics?

Thanks any response, advice would be appreciated!

It should work, but the sound would be terrible I'd wager, as monitor speakers tend to be :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty.

hdmi carries sound anyway, monitor may be able to input sound through hdmi, but yes, sound will be awful.

if u plan to use it at all with the computer make sure to not get a 1080p and get a 1920x1200 with 1:1 pxel mapping it looks like u want the samsung 23" so just get the t240 or t240hd instead or the 260 if they are still the same price

and yes those work but if u want headphones u really need to use the term on the ps3 to run rca out to a reviver/computer

why cant you use 1920x1080 with a computer at 1:1? if console games will be used a significant amount i vote for 16:9, black bars (if even available, they always find a way to mess up good monitors lately) will be pretty annoying if you are playing on a console a majority of the time

I think he's asking if he can use his Plantronics headphones on the monitors 3.5mm jack. Sound should be OK, as you won't be using the PC speakers. If the monitor carries the HDMI audio to the headphone jack, and I don't see why it shouldn't, then it should be fine.

And if your getting the monitor mainly for the PS3, then yes, get 1920x1080. If you do get 1920x1200, make sure it supports 1:1 pixel mapping.

if your monitor has an audio out along with an HDMI port then yes it will work.

As long as the HDMI is coming from a source sending sound as well as video.

if not just use an rca audio input on the tv from the soundcard of your computer
