Hey guys, quick question - will the Apogee GTZ i7 Extreme fit on a 1156 board? I want to use it with the Maximus III Formula and wasn't sure if the holes would line up. Are the 1366 board's holes the same as the 1156?

Thanks

No they are not the same. I am not sure if swiftech makes a mounting kit for the gtz. But you can buy other waterblocks that are 1156

since the bracket that came with my Apogee XT said 'LGA1156 bracket for Apogee XT / GTZ / GTX', I figure they are developing one. Just haven't seen it in the shops yet.

Ok, well the Swiftech Apogee XT apparently does fit the 1156 socket boards... Maybe I will pick up that one instead.

Can someone confirm this for me?

It should do, with the appropriate back plate :)

None at all. It a great block. The mounting mechanism is the best on it.

They now include both 1156 and 1366 backplates. Check microcenter and Petra's as I think they have the best prices atm.
