Some I trying to connect my HTPC analog output to my pre-amp. But the analog out put from the mobo are headphone typejacks and the pre-amp are RCA Type inputs???? So how does this work I haven't found any sound cards or Mobo's with a analog rca output. Thanks!

Are you using onboard sound ? i would go with this soundcard, this things rocks for hooking up to home recievers, it has optical, coaxel, etc, very good sound card for hooking up to home reciever. http://www.digitalconnection.com/products/audio/revolution.asp

Dont say that Neo, it isnt true at all. In fact analog can sound way better than the digital sound if you do it right.

You either use these cables:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=5599&seq=1&format=2
(different lengths are available)

Or get a sound card with all RCA outputs:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271005&cm_re=HT_Omega-_-29-271-005-_-Product

What sound card do you have?

Sound cards can get better sound then receivers especially if you have a good one and plug it directly in to a dedicated 2 channel amplifier.

You can get some from bluejeanscable too I bought a lot of stuff from them, highly recommended.
There is a splitter and RCA cables form the site.

You can go for the asus HT series too which can go straight RCA

Stay away from Bluejeans, Monster and other so call Hi-Fi cables. They are a rip off and are for suckers.

RiteAV - Component/RGB HDTV Cable - 25ft. Two sets and you're set! I went to Hobby Lobby and even Taped (Color Hobby Tape) so the matched my color coded Creative 7 wire home theater cable.
