Just curious about user experiences with TEC's and
P4's...... I'm going to be watercooling soon and am
thinking of going peltier route.....

Well, I don't have too much experience with P4's and TEC's, but i can tell you that you wont need a super 200+ watt TEC with a P4. I believe that a P4 at 3.0 only puts out around 80w, so I would think you could cool one sufficiently with a 156w or 172w TEC quite well.

If you're not serious about being "hardcore," then a TEC maybe more trouble than its worth to you. I think you may find that H20 is sufficient in cooling your P4. For the pelt, you'll need an additional Bench Powersupply, and you'll definetly be voiding some warrenties when you cake your mainboard in silicone to protect it from condensation. Sometimes, it can be more trouble than its worth, thats all.

But, if you fall into the "hardcore" category, by all means, hook up a 172w pelt and give that P4 the chill! :)

More like 101-113 watts ;)

Lets say your using a 2.26, at default the cpu puts out 56.0 watts at 1.5v

Now to get to 3.0 you probably will need 1.75v, and that will dispell 101.18 watts

If your using 1.85 watts the vcore will be 113.07 watts ;)

I've used a Danger Den Maze 2-2 w/two 172W pelts on my Soltek SL-75EVR with my XP 2100(Unlocked,Man was That a Pain!),but I have since then sold my system and went to an ABIT IT7/P4 System(Waiting for The Flame,Go Ahead!).

I've put the Maze2-2 on my P4 system with an adapter from Danger Den and am running only chilled water(16c).

Just Wanted to ask What do you think about putting the two 172W pelts on my IT7/P4 System.

Overkill?

The 156w on a 15A@12v PSU was not enough to support my P4 @ 3.5Ghz

I could reach very cold temps but the maze3-1 block maintain those temps under full load.
