well nothing really new, just a short summary of the already known.

this whole suit is weak sauce. intel is cheating like crazy, paying off chump change in the suits, and their agreement is to sort of stop doing a few things for a little while until AMD starts to sell some product...

Maybe so, but for AMD it is probably the best this way rather than going through lenghty trials and appeals and all the legal mess considering they needed money right now and could not really afford to wait several years.

AMD is scoring more than Intel is hurting, so it's not too bad for them.

I started this thread for the AMD does not have to pay x86 loyalties point, its a huge plus for AMD....

Also my cousin bought quite a bit of shares when they were at $5 since then they are now at $7 that is quite a high for AMD have not seen such share prices for AMD for some time :)

Note that none of this means that the gouverment agencies enforcing fair competition in the E.U. and the U.S. have to drop the charges against Intel. It only says that AMD will stop pushing them to punish Intel.

They might or might not drop the charges but there us a high chance they don't. They know AMD is so cash-strapped that they had to accept a deal giving them some money. So from an anti-competitive judging standpoint the AMD/Intel might not be good enough punishment.

So what happens if Intel is found to be violating the terms of the agreement?

So what happens if Intel is found to be violating the terms of the agreement?

AMD can sue again, but now it is a clear breach of a clearly worded contract and would get Intel sentenced to severe penalties very quickly.

If only this could have happened back during the :banana::banana::banana:etastic netburst era. Considering intel still stayed on top with that junk they have gotten off scot free imho!
