View Full Version : 5870 resolution change problem

I just got this new HD5870 after installing the drivers and rebooting i cant change res to anything above 1280x800 on a 30inch monitor, i just get black screen and sometimes i get blue, red and green lines allover the screen !!
as im typing now im noticing random lines appearing in some ereas then diapering !
what i tried:
- reinstalled driver after cleaning old one with Driver Sweeper.
- switched between two DVI ports .

Not sure, but each resolution has also refresh rate frequency.. have you tried setting lower one? If you have that option?

the only refresh rate available in Catalyst is 60Hz .

No problem here with my 3008WFP. I'm wondering if this is a BIOS thing. What brand is your card, I have an Asus.
Can you update/install monitor inf file/driver?

nothing worked so i sent it back to the shop they will replace it for me .

Actually you should have tried ubuntu live CD as well :) It might still be OS (some other hw/driver) related
