Hey guys,

its been a while since iv been on this site.

i play on a 24" screen, 1920x1200, which of these 2 optins would be better?

i currently have the 8800GT SLI on a q6600 stock with 8gb ram on windows 7 ultimate. would i see a increase or decrease in performance?

thanks!

HD5850 is an improvement. OCing the Q can help alot too.

5850 is an improvement, but you can still keep one of the 8800gt for physics acceleration in phyx games

Careful there - they're using Win7. That will only work if they're using the user-developed hack (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=235968), which has an uncertain future ahead of it if nVidia decides to be an ass and tighten up on the drivers.

@ SoulsCollective, thanks for the link, i will go and try it out.

I would go with the ati and get the direct x 11 support. At least you will have it when it comes mainstream then.

I got 2 x 9800 gx2's and i'm fixing to get rid of them and go with a single card because of the heat off these cards.

5850 with OC will be as good as 5870@Default

yeah the GT's are deff warm in my case, sold the GT's (almost)

this card runs cooler and has a bit more perf in games compared to the 2 so far!
