To set up 240, I remove 3.5-inch bay.

It is necessary to remove a lot of rivets to detach this.

Can you tell me how many millimetres you have left if the radiator is on its side?
I bet not even 3mm, right?

You see I want to put 2 Quad radiators in that bottom compartment and the PSU on top (it can be done) so I'm afraid my PA120.4 is a bit too high with its 129mm width...

I would be helped a lot if you could give me that info :)

Great build man, I will follow this one for sure

I owned Black Ice GT Stealth240 and 360; there is it. Was disappointed, but was not able to install these; because is XSPC240: 286x125x58.6mm
Black Ice GT Stealth240: Is 277x133x29.6mm; the height of the bottom as for about 127mm is because is it.

I tried it to put two pieces of XSPC, but there is not an air flow.
Therefore I test it in one piece of XSPC240.

From the looks of your RAD's on the bottom, you are not going to have fans on the 2nd RAD?

I'm against your airflow project. It's agains law of physics.....
In the top of case should be outlet of hot air (hot air goes up) nad in the bottom or lover parts should be air intake. That's a better solution IMO.

I guess that mobo will be also watercooled. So then it produces much less hot air (radiation) then only AC mobo. The difference will not be much different 2-3*C.
The best will be to try both solutions while checking temps.

In my case i got intake in the bottom and air outlet in the top and it works.

I would like to ask you, which is the trip that the coolant makes on your system? and also, have you used 1/2 ID 3/4OD compression fittings for your tygon 1/2ID 3/4OD??
About the latter question, I will use the same specifications and well I am a little bit afraid that the compression wont be tight enough.

Very nice set up. Are you running one loop with all? Did you end up using both pumps or just the one. Ca you take a pic of the pumps in the bottom.
Great work
Chad
Yes, it is one loop. Consider from watching the water temperature to change the loop.
Now DDC3.25x2 XSPC Dual Acrylic Top for Laing DDC is.

Thanks for your question if the answer is, I ask you a question again
yes, this Tygon 3603or3400 is 1/2ID 3/4OD This could ensure the flow of many

Noeru, I'm curious on how you got both of the RX240s to fit down the bottom, could we get some more pictures to show how you made them fit?

Did you have to cut a bit of the bottom hole where the grommet was for cable management out?

Cheers

hello Sil2
thank you for getting me interested in the work,I cut the bottom for air flow to the bottom and work.
The piping for the 10mm rad is the offset.RX240 tried to connect a rotary angle, we stopped for a difficult
'G1 / 4 D-Plug Set-ONE Inch Version' also had enough Specified After all, Tygon are connected.

Big thanks for info/measurements. But how about cutting back of case? So eg. non fan part of rad with tubing attachment holes is outside case (it won't change much looks as it's well .. back :) ) .. IIRC there should be some place for optional top PSU mount? And how about internal width of 5.25 bay enclosure? Can you measure that width of enclosure if it's wide enough to put 153mm wide rad in there or needs to be removed (I don't plan using any 5.25" devices anyway) + if possible, pics of top-back of this case from outside&inside?
P.S. There is another monstrous radiator out there (Watercool Mo-Ra 2 Pro, square form (424 x 385 x 54mm) 3x3 for nine 120mm fans which i considered at one point for installment on the side of case, even quieter and better cooling then gtx 560), or similar Phobya Xtreme NOVA 1080 rad, but most probably installing those will result in ugly looking side of case with fat bump outside dimensions). But in any case .. how wide(deep?) is compartment on the right side of case for cable management?

Hi churchy this rad I think this is difficult. Process also requires a five-inch side of the bay
the inner bay is 5 inches 146.8mm.
I was set 15mm further back than normal

Well, seems i'll have to give up on this particular rad and use some 3x140mm or 4x120mm as one you used, as i am aiming to maximise cooling but still staying with everything mounted within case. Thanks for providing info, it will help me greatily with choosing components.

hmm. Noeru: how about putting PSU on one of it sides and cutting out hole for it's air intake in case side wall (another option to locate it in front of case with power cord extention)? Then place side by side rad (it's hard to tell from these pics, maybe case middle section floor or case bottom needs to be cut for that .. (in both cases possibly strengthening of case structure needed?)). Probably few more hight can be recovered by taking out removable dust filters.
[edit]
hmm. or PSU in front of case, and rad laying on bottom of case? or PSU risen as much as possible till bottom of motherboard? but in such case it will suck warm air from bottom radiator. choices, choices :)

You could do that, and it may even be easier to use one of the new antec psu that are 120mm high, and place the fan their. It would greatly simplify cooling.
Although, I dont think they go up 1000w, but you may not actually need 1000w.

Another idea, is to use one or two rx360 instead. I think you have 572mm on the base to play with. The rx360 is 410mm, so that leaves 172mm to play with. It would still force you to get creative with psu mounting. You could either get a short psu and get very very creative, or fab a psu extender.
Or you could fab up a new psu case to work with that small ammount of space, just depends how comfortable you are with cracking open your psu.

Either way you have your work cut out for you. It's funny, no matter how big a case gets, you always can think of ways of where you just wish it was just a bit bigger.

Amazing build. btw

Noeru, great work! you have greatly inspired me on my first water cooled system. I am also using the i7-980x. Obviously the lower the better, but in your opinion (or anyone who could ring in on this) what would you consider the highest core temps you would feel safe for a 24/7 overclock (assuming stable)?

Currently I'm @ 4.3 GHz. I haven't run any overnight tests yet, but after 10 minute small FFT torture tests, my hottest single core temp maxed at 77 at some point, but running average of all six is 72.

And when running Prime95 torture test, which is it best to run? Small FFTs (ram not tested much), In-place large FFTs (max heat, some ram tested), or Blend (lots of ram tested)?

Love this project, totally inspiring to me! Question, would a 140.3 fit inside the case across the top? I'm debating a single loop w/a 140.3 and a 120.1 for an i7 920 and 2x GF100's.

mlee49: I've seen few worklogs with 140.3 on top. Sorry, i'm too lazy to search urls for them. Main thing you should watch for if 140.3 rad's width fits between 5.25 enclosure bays walls. Some 140rads fits (don't remember, XSPC or TFC or something else), some (in particular wider Black Ice GTX/SR1 - do not = required some cutting of top of those 5.25 walls). And of course you need cut top for larger rad and paint cuts or slap some nice rad grill ontop.

Hello mlee49
Thanks to word of praise!:)
It is a difficult debate! I see skinnee test.
XSPC rad I like the pitch. Slow (800-1000rpm) of the cooling fan is working I prefer quiet.
For the GTX480, HWLabs SR1-480, XSPC-RX480 candidates cited a quietly cool for me to determine the size needed GTX 480 has a narrow pitch fan speed 1800rpm ↑ SR-1 is a low volume. We have to xspc480.I think I prefer a quiet 140.3.

With so much power you swore to blow up the rivets of the Obsidian. I have not yet seen an Obsidian climbing on trees, but I believe that on your worklog it is only a question of patience.
I am going to really enjoy the show two 5970 in this case.
Small caress to Airu. I understand that she wants to lower the head! I am a little bit like that also!

Hello manu_D
Thanks, we look forward to your project.
The Kanihendakkusu is Airu:)

Hi Noeru,

EK waterblocks 5970 is really beautiful mechanical parts. With the red liquid cooling the look is magic!

The internal volume of the Obsidian is planned for mother boards in the eATX size, it is thus spacious. The volume needs to be occupied by big GPU cards, so that the case is emphasized.
We say about a car that it is beautiful, when besides the body it also has a beautiful engine (a powerful engine). So when the internal volume of Obsidian (the body) is occupied by big cards, and when they are powerful (the engine), we cannot make better! Aesthetics and power are combined.

What I find it's a pity, it is only in the position ATX inverted that we see waterblocks upward. In the position ATX the aesthetic charm is hidden in a way. It's HARD!

I have already seen in France dogs of the race of Hairu. Thus I knew it was a race, but I did not know the name. "CROUCH, CROUCH" to miss Hairu, sweet little face.
