The VGA Silencer is the first VGA cooler with selectable cooling and noise level. The unique mounting clip on the silencer improves heat transfer of the GPU to the heat sink significantly while the DHES (Direct Heat Exhaust System) carries the warm exhaust air directly outward. The VGA silencer draws cool air from inside the case and exhausts warm air outwards. This prevents the fan from recycling warm air to cool the CPU, which increases cooling performance. Further, the DHES lowers the air temperature inside the case significantly. Arctic Cooling's VGA silencer operates with absolute silence and uncompromising cooling performance. After all, Arctic Cooling is the expert in noise reduction.

$24.99

These are very nice and cool excellent, I bought one to tinker with and I highly recommend them.

Looks rather interesting, how well does it actually cool though?
As a follow up thought on that, since youve seen one, how easy would it to be to mod it with a betterheatsink/fan on that setup?

It cools roughly 50% better than the original ATI heatsink at high speed, replacing the fan would be most difficult. But since it works well why would you want to change the fan? At high speed the fan is just as quiet as ATI's stock fan, at low speed its VERY quiet.

There is a Copper /Aluminum version coming out for 9800XT's from this company shortly. Personally I'd wait for that version

Unfortunately not yet, but Nvidia based cards usually always have adaquete cooling, ATI heatsinks have and still do have heatsinks that suck. 9800XT and Tyan 9800's excluded+ a few other 3rd tier makers have ok heatsinks. Finally ATI has woken up out of their Stupor and started making 'better' heatsinks.
