Has anyone used this HP Smart Array P800 Controller (http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/arraycontrollers/smartarrayp800/index.html) in a non-HP system?
I maybe able to get one from a friend, and setting up a raid 5 or 6 for my home server would be my use for it. But I have a self built server and not one of HP's so before I pay for it I'd like to know if it would work.
I tried googling but didn't find much about this.

I'm using one in my HP Blackbird (http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=158206&highlight=blackbird&page=2) running a SuperMicro X7DWAN motherboard, and 2x Raid 10 arrays, made up of 8 drives - 4x 1246gig SAS, and 4x 73gig SAS.

Log is not updated, I need to add more recent pictures.

But, the HP P800 works fine - have a look.
