Alright, currently my cable modem is connected to a Linksys router/wireless access point, main computer is connected to Linksys via cat5, 2 other rooms connected via wireless usb. Now the wireless is fine for average browsing etc, but I have latency issues with some games.

My question is, instead of using wireless in my Gaming room could I connect a second cable modem directly to the computer? The cable is prewired through my home, I was going to pick up another cable modem and give this a shot, can someone tell me if this would work?

Depends on if your cable company has your second modems mac address in thier system. (most likely not, so your modem won't link up.)
But if you tell them what you are wanting to do, I doubt they would think it's a good idea.;)

I guess you'll hace to share the connection with your main computer, then put a crossed cable between the main and the gaming pc...
Or look into another router, like I did...
Had 1 incoming signal standard, now 4*10/100Mbit connections and 802.11a/b/g
