Hey, I have an Acer 5735, with a T6400. A QX9300 Quad just fell into my hands, but my Acer doesn't want to POST with it (Big surprise...) Any way to mod the bios to recognize the thing?

Bah! It's not like the wimpy single pipe - two inch fan cooling system could have sustained it anyways. What are some good barebone notebooks for $500 or so? Don't need anything special, 15" screen, Intel GMA, and a cooling solution that can support the 9300 is all I need.

It's quite easy to add support for a processor to a bios. If you give me some time I'll have a look for you. I'm not home at the moment, but Will be in like 6-7 hours.

Most laptop manufacturers lock their BIOS, which makes any kind of modding almost impossible with the tools modders can find :(

Darn. Well... thanks anyways. Looks like I will be picking up a OCZ barebone or an MSI 1722.

Sorry, I completely forgot about this thread. I just had a quick look and I can confirm no modding is possible on the bios Acer provides. I'm sorry. :(

not even a barebone would do it - the mobile c2q are only supported by.. crud, cant remember which chipset it was now.. anyway, there is only one chipset (NB) that supports mobile c2q
