So a while ago I replaced my dual 2900XTs with a single 4670 for silence, and everything has been hunky dory until now. Last night I fired up Counter Strike Source for the first time in ages and started by maxing out the resolution and detail. I did the video stress test and got 140fps - more than enough, so I started a game against a handfull of bots to get the feel for it again. For some odd reason, I've got MASSIVE input lag. For example, if I'm running forward and jump there'll be a delay of about two steps before I actually jump. This happens for every action, if I turn I'll carry on going forward for about two steps before actually turning, and it's making the game absolutely impossible to play. Thinking it was a software issue and looking for a quick fix, I slapped XP onto an old drive and got the exact same issue. Specs are as follows:
Athlon FX55 @ 3.05GHz
DFI LP UT CFX3200-DR
1.5Gigs RAM @ 235MHz 2-2-2-5
Radeon 4670 512MB @ 815/1180
Windows 7 64bit and Windows XP SP3 32bit
Before swapping the cards out about three months ago I never had this problem. Source is hardly a demanding game, hell I used to play it on a P4 2GHz with 512MB RAM and a 9800XT... Any help would be appreciated.
Addendum: I've tried lowering the quality all the way and dropping down to 800x600 without antialiasing and anisotropic filtering, but still no go. Apart from the graphics card swap, the only other thing to have changed is the CPU is no longer running at 3.45GHz but even underclocked it won't be the bottleneck.
