Just looked through several e-tailers I can't find a single Intel (brand) 1366 motherboard. What's up with that?

Look again? There's the Intel DX58SO and the WX58BP.

I'd rather get a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R for great budget overclocking though, as the Intels tend to be mediocre at OCing.

You do not want an intel board anyway. Like jcool said, better performance elswhere. I think gigabyte has the best price/performance right now!

I've been very happy with my DX58SO, extremely stable and adequate for overclocking.

The DX58SO is what I was looking for. Looked at all the usual e-tailers (Newegg, etc.) but no one has them in stock.

Intel seriously PWNS in power consumption though.

Well i had Intel X38 bonetrail, it was rather interesting board, FSB limited to 478Mhz, wel actually bugged, after that it just dropped it to 370ish and couldn't turn EIST off no matter what. But other wise good board, stable atleast :)

The DX58SO gets a bad rap. The bios is good, easy to navigate, and all the necessary oc settings. Only 4 ram slots but not a big issue for a cruncher and I populate all 4 slots with 1gb sticks for tri-chan. Very stable, never had chipset heat issues, and it supports sli.

Yeah but the Rev 1,6 GB UD3R can OC even past 222 (if you get a good baord) and is even cheaper than the Intel... so I would definitely go with that.
