View Full Version : It seems ATIs new 5870 Beta4 OpenCL driver can do PhysX

Thats right people, im probably late to the partly but the new opencl beta4 driver is able to run nvidia physx ect.... there for no need for any nvidia GPU as a dedicated part ect..

but there is still along way to go for optimiztion wich will come very soon.

i tested out vantage and one of the parts of the ai physx test is a massive jump in performance.

tested arkham aswell and all the physx is there,

smoke, cloth,steam, basicly all the effects where as before from the cpu you couldnt do cloth ect ect..

the performance has gone up aswell but not well enough yet i suspect in the next 3-4 driver releases that the performance will be there

becue currently arkham is only useing 24% of both my 5870s cfire.
also the batman menus are fully running at 60fps with high physx enabled.

the future looks bright infact ati seem to be on a roll lol

Well, i just installed it and noticed no difference in Vantage. :shrug:
