How is this pump versus other higher rate pumps? Its a great thing not to have to worry about pump relays and what not, but that seems like a low rate (160gph) versus some of the others that are pushing well over 300gph.

Any input?

I have this pump, and I can honestly say it is better than any other pump I have tried (hydor l30, eheim 1048), plus it connects to your regular power supply!. The difference with this pump is that it will maintain around 150GPH going through 3 or more blocks where an eheim 300GPH will drop to around 100. Only problem with this pump is there MUST be water in the impeller for it to work. This pump will not move air. When filling the system, make sure there iis water at teh pump impeller or it won't flow.

Yeah, If you have several blocks in a line or one impingment block, you want to look at the block's head rating, not the gph.

Thx for the replies guys. I am most likely grabbin the following for Christmas, and want to get premium parts and also get rid of extra work (pump relays, etc) since it will be a big job anyway.

Getting Swifty TECs for both CPU and GPU, sitting a Swifty chipset block on as well.

Ideas for a good rad, maybe the BIX?

Well bix will not give you enough cooling for both gpu and cpu your temps will be high, you need a black ice ex 2 at the least with plenty of air flow. A tec puts out more heat than you think it will. If you have any soldering skills pick up a heatercore from a autoparts store thats what i did my swifteck rad676 radiator couldn't handle the gpu tec alone, my cpu temps have dropped over 12c with the heatercore,it just fit in my case but it handles it well. When i put in my new fans it should drop again

Is that soldering skills or welding skills man...lol.

just cut off tubes and soldered on "no welding" 2 45's less restiction than slaping on a 90, and the 1/2 outlets.

nitrorat, can you fit 3 120mm fans on that heater core and which model is it?:slobber:

two 120's, I had to make a mount for it and already had the holes from the prior rad that was in it . Left about 1 inch of space to the top of the case to form the fan shroud. just by adding a 92 mm fan below it, it dropped my idle temp 2 degrees c and my load temps went down 7. I have 2 120mm fans coming to add to the side to help feed it from below because i have limited space for the case to breath right now...

You soldered those connections on man, very nice job. What solder you use?

95-5 you have to be careful that you don't screw up the solder joint on the tubes coming out which i almost did but a little solder fixed that. I must be totally honest with you this with 2 80 plus cfm 120mm fans is a must for tec's. This heatercore is a two pass flows down one half and is cooled then thru the other side and cooled further. the part number for this for napa is 460-3056 and for $24 you could screw one up and still be ahead of the game. Oh and that swiftech pump is the §§§§ waiting for my 300 to puke so I can rma it for a 2nd time and get the 600 and pay out a little cash...

This pump kicks the §§§§ out of pretty much any other cheap watercooling pumps (like, not uber-industrial pumps, etc...)

Thanks for the link...looks like a MCP600 will be under the tree this year I hope.

Unfortunately not, thought I will probably get one ;).

Went with the MCP600...hope they fixed their head pressure issues.

That's alot for a pump. You might as well blow anoter $20 on an Iwaki or little giant.
