I'm having a major issue with my pair in crossfire.

For some reason, the second card runs constantly at 99% load (even when the system is idling). I can't figure out why. I have loaded and unloaded drivers several times and it continues to persist.

Because its running in this fashion, everything (games and benches) slow to a crawl.

I assume its a driver issue. I have tested each card separately and switched them around with the same issue.

Odd thing was it happened earlier and then went away and now its back.

Anyone else running into this?

I know on some of my AMD rigs I had to reinstall my chipset drivers to correct the same issue on the 4800 cards.

Your 5870's have set themselves to self destruct mode because they have detected an intel CPU. :D

Still screwing up. Sometimes if I reboot its fine (and doesn't occur until I power up again).

It happens right away on start up.

What are you using to actually monitor the loading?

The only thing I think it could be is your power cables. I once forgot to reconnect the power cables to my secondary 4870 after pulling it out to clean, when I powered the system back on the fan immediately went to 100% and stayed there.

I would try reseating the card and double checking all the power connections.
