View Full Version : Phenom 955 and Heatkiller 3.0 cu

hi all,
i just got a heatkiller 3.0 all copper,i have no distibutor plate with it and do i need it?
also the fittings that came with it consist of just 4 x springs and 4 x screws,is that all is needed for fitting (if anyone has pics of there amd heatkiller fitting would be very appreciated),instructions arent very good.

You don't need the distributor plate for a native quad core like the Phenom II X4 (that's if you mean the small divider in the inlet)

The screws with the springs on them have to be screwed in the standard AMD backplate that comes with the mobo.

been panicing over not having a plate with heatkiller,my cpu is a AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) on a asus m4a79deluxe mobo.

Hi beanie ... I'm sure you will be fine without the plate - as Zeus pointed out. The 955 runs MUCH cooler than the i7 CPUs, so your heatkiller should be the king of cooling for it.

dual bay xspc res

just going to use de-ionized water and silver coil
