PrimeCores is a small diagnostic application that benchmarks your processor cores. Starts looking for prime numbers and start from over 10000000, the research continues for 30''. Faster PCs discover more prime numbers, every prime number discovered, computes its square root,
all calculations generated in memory are compared with static tables already stored in this application. The application consists of five independent modules. The principal module is responsible for synching other modules that generate correct calculations, the four modules that generate the calculations are optimized for each core present within the CPU; each core has its separate process coupled with the corresponding module. At the end of the entire cycle you may consider whether any core are defective, Or slower than others, the verification results that the cores work without errors in overclocked machines.

Enjoy. : D

This does not seem to be that coding related, hence I suggest you to move this to Xtreme Benchmarking -section for more coverage and user experience. :)

...or then make this more coding related and.. release the source. ;)

Version 3.02 is out

can be downloaded from MajorGeek (http://www.majorgeeks.com/PrimeCores_d6327.html)

http://www.xstreme.it/pcdoz.jpg

currently also working on fully 64-bit version,

for optimal results run benchmark with number of cores
in your CPU, such :
quad core is most efficiency with 221,578,740.

thanks and good benchmark.

bonis, few things,
1st. @the multy view, while loading results and tapping the "display" function, the opened window, cannot be closed by the X.., only by untapping the button again.

2nd, there doesn't seem to be any possibility to play with the calculation sizes..

3rd, there isn't any possibility to stop the test.

and 4th..:),
you should add some more function to it to make it more playable, add support for 12 cores (and even DP 24..) (westmere is coming).
you have to save each stat u create and then upload it again to the multy view, which doesn't support 8 cores for I7 processors,
maybe create a log option to remember the last tests...

anyway,
it works, it had an access violation while trying to start benchmark while the other was already running and crashed, yet, later on, while trying that (it didn't work of course) but it contiued on and went ok.

that's all.
it's nice,
it should really become more professional to make people want to keep it though :),
hope it helps you a bit,
overall,
nice effort :).

thank you for reply

0) this is beta :)

1) ok will add a buttons to close the multi :)

2) the size is fixed, i think this remain fixed for uncomplicated utilizes

3) in the final release i add a test break button

4) this is a 32 bit release, in 64 bit version (soon) i will add the 24 cores support

if you have any request or see new bug .........are :welcome: ...... :)

boins,
this is beta of course, yet that's why the creator is requesting for feedback isn't it ;).
few more things,

consider adding a progress bar,
the tests are set to 105.000 figures yet they reach higher,
~110,000 for PI test and ~240,000 for the FP one.

2nd,
the FP test manages to create that access violation on some occasions,
try playing with it a bit, tap the core option and start it, or try any other variation, maybe u'll be able to catch it :).

then try posting the end product at the bench forum when u finish with it and ask more people to feedback & test it :).

:D

consider adding a progress bar,
in Seven the p.bar consumes so many cycles, since it is a real animation

the tests are set to 105.000 figures yet they reach higher,

at the beginning it was like that, but running PrimeCores on single core machines, the times were Monumental

the FP test manages to create that access violation on some occasions

I do not see this error on my PC, i would like to know what kind of PC it gives you these problems and how much memory you have

TY

the access v. comes out of playing with it, switching modes too fast, yet it is hard to emulate...

i'd just do some finishing and send it out to the benching forum to have more people test it (you can try at other sites too),
just do what ever it takes to answer u'r questions regard it,
as much as u'll "push it", and work hard, u'll learn better and professionalize u'rself with it :yepp:,
have a look at other softwares and think what would u like to have in them that isn't already there,
u'll have to think, think and improvise...

just don't forget to update friend ;),

a whole good good luck .

sorry,
had to attend some other stuff,
it's a giga wide memory pc,
the process uses ~20% of it for PI calc. and up to 70% 2 core FP related,

it could be a memory thing, yet it's hard to emulate,
it doesn't seem to happen while playing with the software "normally".
