View Full Version : Less power draw at idle with latest driver?

Just installed the latest driver for my 2 x HD3870X2 Xfire set up and saw a significant drop in watts drawn at the wall when idling in 2D.

I was wondering if anyone else can corroborate this finding?

I am seeing about 17 watts less draw at the wall now.

Nothing else has changed.

Unless I am missing something.

Gaming it still draws buttloads of juice:yepp:

maybe you are seeing ulps enabled on your cards. it's a new power saving method that turns off most of the slave card when idle. check if gpuz 0.3.5 crashes on your system, also look for a ULPSEnable or EnableULPS registry key
