Hi all,

I'm in the process of OC'ing my P5Q Deluxe with my Q9650...I going small stages at a time, my first stepping stone was 3.25Ghz - which I booted with and ran 45 mins OCCT - so it was stable.

Only thing is, when I restart my system it won't post! It's got dual bios so it sorts itself out after AC power off - but that restors the bios to stock! So it doesnt save my 100% stable OC or boot up after restarting to increase FSB!

It boots fine after AC power off because it puts everything back to auto! But i dont want that! i want it to remember my OC settings! without using OC Profiles! Im guessing that wont work either as i wont post OC'd after power off!

Could anyone help on this??

Thanks

I would suggest you post your setup in your signature so we can see if other parts might cause an issue such as PSU, memory. Also post your overclocked settings to see if there's anything out of the ordinary. If you're confident these aren't the problem, maybe lowering the PL or setting clock twister to light/lighter could help you. I sometimes get a bois reset if I set these too low.

Try a bit more FSB term voltage that usually helps

Cheers guys,
I'll try some more FSB term voltage - it was on stock with the 360mhz fsb when it reset the bios every time i restarted so i think stock it 1.5v i'll try 1.54v and tell ya what happens.

all the twister and mem settings are on disable (the options that say "extra OC ability")
LLC - on
all cpu enhancment is on disable

yeh sorry - i just noticed what i just posted!!!!! yes for 45nm cpu its 1.2v!!!!! its now at 1.24v (fsb term) and ive changed from the 400mhz fsb strap to the 266 one to run 1066 ram at 960mhz i think - it now posts every time! i dont know if it was a bug using the 400mhz fsb strap or the low fsb term voltages but it works now guys!!

I left the strap on AUTO and just adjusted the ram speeds, if you get of the 1:1 divider on the Asus P45 series things get far easier to stabilise... glad it works now
