UK internet is crap. Not everywhere is cabled, even then its capped due to Virgin Media having complete monopoly.

I pay £17.50 a month for 2.5/3mbit down, 1.1 up, ADSL2+.

Completely unlimited though, ideal for Mj12!

According to Verizon: "via Twitter: a router responsible for peering in the Northeast failed. It was reset and traffic should be coming back." A few hours ago I couldn't even get google to load but now things are coming back online. BT is worse. My entire line was down yesterday, could hear enviromental noise in the line (it was really windy and raining outside). Line died completely at one point so I just moped about and had an early night.

Still down this morning, phoned BT.. did auto test, no issues. Picked up my phone, even though 5 mins previous it was dead, and est voila! A dial tone.... UGH.

It is more important for Alex, that the project has a flow of many crawlers, where he can't feel that someone stops crawling for a month or two and come back, than 2 or 3 guys pumping the net dry.

They are important and a big gain for the project, but as said, it's important for the project that Alex can plan according to a trustworthy flow.
You saw what happened when he joined, Alex had to up his flow, and wasn't prepared......kinda stressful for the guy..

Imagine if only they crawled and one of them decided to stop...........come back..........stop.....

Short....you are important, because yours as mine, can come and go, without stressing the project.

Better many "small" than few big

And 500 mill is a lot.....a hell of a lot........

I'm gonna be gone for a week or two :( One of the mosfets on my video card decided it had enough and died taking out my motherboard with it. The vid card is deader than a log and I'm sending it in for repair but for the motherboard I'm 70% sure it's just a bios chip problem and I've ordered one(should be here any day now). If the mobo is really dead then I'm looking at 2-4+ weeks  It's never a good thing when you see smoke rising out of the side vent panels on your case!:rofl:

There's nothing as devastating as being burned.

Burns souls.

You must seek your fix elsewhere until the fire has settled, and spring is a time of joy.

We'll miss your xtreme output

Back with a vengeance :D Soon, very soon :hehe:......although I'm very tempted to sell off my q6600 and just jump to 1366 and get a i7 920, DDR3, etc etc :p:

After a disaster involving my mother and a vacumcleaner, I'm finally back with a new setup.

She decided at a visit - while I was away - to clean my place. Dust had settled through time and my old XP2600 sytem (10 years almost 24/7) had its share of the dust inside. As the system was open, you could enjoy it. Now when I came back, my mother was almost crying and said "I think I have made a disaster. She had. There on the floor laying on its side, my system was delivering the message to my screen "Please check your signal cable." After 1 day of all "medical attempts to revive the victim, I declared it braindead, and gone forever.

The next day I build a new machine after a 10 year pause without any opgrades, so anything, even 3 generations back would deliver me an impact, I could feel. Finally after the build were finish, I can confirm that for nearly nothing I made a huge impact, and can declare myself, happy. : )

Just a note to any one thinking he's gone. He was, but he's back.

Cheers

PS

Morale :

Don't leave your mother alone with a vacumcleaner, in your apartment.

Hey you ; )

Well, for you guys it's a joke, but for 200$

E 5300
asrock with an intel chipset (micro board)
ddr2
Graphic i had from my sons old system radeon 1900gt
The rest i had too....

Yeah i know it's a joke, but going from an amd 2600 with a 9600pro, made it feel like heaven

Just a thing that made it clear was when i installed a program and played a video, while i heard some music at the same time, and the cpu never went over 40 %. Another thing was archiving which has cut 50 % in cpu usage. So not only does it handle processes like a dream, but it uses so much less power doing it.

I'm freaking happy. : )

Edit
One more thing.

The time archiving has gone from 2:30-5 min. to top about 1 min, using 50 % less cpu. That's freaking huge... : )

It must have been..:eek2: where mine was  ..:D

I'm still amazed by my new micro setup, and my stomach is tickling of joy...I actually forgot to eat nearly a day tunning and setting it up....my brain was too busy with all sorts of logistics.

It's not in a case yet, just operating from the floor. It's a mess...but a chaos with the finest functional order...:D
