Couldn't find an answer to this elsewhere so here goes:

Just picked up two of the Asus 4890s (the ones with the 2 fan coolers and the ML Cap) with the intent of throwing on a pair of the EK FC-4890 water blocks on them. Initially i looked at a few reviews for the cards online, all of which showed the physical layout of everything on the card (as far as chip placement) as completely reference. (see picture and review below for the picture i was working off of)

So as soon as i got the cards in the mail I immediately pulled the cooler off one and found that Asus decided to get creative with the card:

The big change (and causer of my frustration) I noticed was over by what I think are the VRMs.

This is where my problem is, as the water block I'm going to use only goes up to where the red line is on the picture above. Also, the end of the raised section circled in green on the cooler hits the taller of the chips circled in green on the card.

Now, I think I can trim enough material off the block so it won't hit what it it shouldn't be on the card (dremmel or something). But what I am not sure about is the need for cooling on the chips that extend past the right of where the block will end. Are these ones the VRMs (which i know will need cooling for sure) or are the ones to the left that will still get block coverage the VRMs?

Any help, suggestions, or ideas would be greatly appreciated! :D
