Currently running a single 8800GT and I noticed with the newer ATI cards coming out, prices have came down. I dont plan on upgrading my LCD anytime soon, so I was wondering given my resolution, is there any cards that would give me a huge difference in graphics that I could upgrade to today?

My LCD is a 2007WFP with an S-IPS panel

I'd just check some of the HD5800 reviews. They include numbers from older generations as well and nearly all reviewers test at 1680x1050 at least.

If you want a solid affordable upgrade a 48701GB will be at least twice as fast as your 8800gt in most games and should still remain competitive for sometime to come. Money allowing, take a look at the 5850 as a possibility. It would serve you better into the future.

Excellent. Thank you. Im looking into the 4870, as well as the 5850. I may just wait for the release and see if the 4870 will go down in price. The only thing I see is that the 4870 is about to be EOL as far as AMD is concerned. It may EOL before it drops price by a bunch (which is what I am looking for) :)
