linux server idea

I have a Linux home server on a 10/100 network. I had an idea i want to know if it is feasible.. set up dual 10/100 nics in half duplex have one be input and have one be output setting it to be a constant stream of data in one and out another? is it possible and if it is can someone point me in the right direction?

Why would you want to do that? If anything it'd probably be better to bond them and use them both as 1 port.

since ethernet can do duplex, you would have gained nothing but trouble. bind them together and use both duplex "channels".

The best way of using both nics is by what linux calls "bonding"
From memory ur using ubuntu and they have loads of stuff on bonding and the different modes etc etc
