Ok, first experience with a large subwoofer like this. I'm in a cramped dorm room, so I need to know what is it safe to put next to? A fridge? I know I need to keep it away from the computer and the monitors. Anything else I should know?

Thanks in advance!

put them in corners or next to as much wall space as available. the wall, or anything big will make them more effective, and anything soft (like cloths or carpet) will absorb all the bass sound. but like you mentioned, just have it at least a foot away from electronics since it has a strong magnet.

If its magnetically shielded it shouldnt matter.

is it safe to put next to a fridge? I'm not sure what electronics would be screwed with that...

put it next to anything you want, only CRT's can be effected.

Its magnetically shielded so you shoudl be able to put it next to anything.

I ran my caseless computer sitting on a neoprene pad on top of my Z-5500 subwoofer. Hard-drives were about 6" away from the magnet and I had no problems with data corruption or instability. I wouldn't suggest doing this as the vibrations from the subwoofer definitely weren't good for the drives but the point is the magnet is shielded well.

the magnet is not shielded at all.

would it be safe next to an lcd?

That wouldn't be a problem. Only CRTs are affected because they use magnets to display images. Obviously there will be some other devices that are affected, but LCDs don't use magnetic fields, hence it won't be a problem at all. Although a lot smaller, I had my T7900 sub next to my LCDs for over 4 years without any issues.
