So I come home today to find BOINC idle. I check the queue and it's full of completed WUs and all of them refuse to upload.

The client keeps giving a message that went something like "internet connection is OK. BOINC server may be down." The internet was indeed fine. Pinging BOINC server worked.

So I start trying everything... including detaching from the project, uninstalling/reinstalling BOINC. Nothing works.

Just as I was about to really start troubleshooting, I look at the system date
.

.

January 1st, 2002. :shakes:

Don't be stupid like me and lose days of crunching work. Check your system time ESPECIALLY if you recently cleared CMOS.

LOL! I've done that before plenty of times after a bios reset.. not with boinc, but with a ton of other programs that wouldn't work... a couple I even dinked around for a half hour looking for solutions and googling.. before realizing the date was in the past. :D

Been there done that for sure. Drove me nuts until I forget why but I checked the time on the computer, but then saw the date....

I'm sure most of us have done it at least once. Some of us don't learn the first time though

Yeah did that automatically a couple times folding. Sometimes I would tinker with something and accidentally hit the 'clear CMOS' button on the back of the mobo and voila. If I did not notice it would boot and all the folding would error out and then would grab new WU's to work on. C'est la vie! :yepp:

WCG gives you a chance, though. It finishes up the queue and patiently waits for you to pull your head out of your a...

Awesome-looking rig, btw. Makes me look at my tangle of disorganized cables in disdain :(

HA ! I never ruined WU's because of bad time :p: , BUT a ruined twice a 6 days' queue of a 3.6GHz Q6600 due to powering the rig down, me leaving home and forgetting about it :shakes:
