that does look scary. I guess now, we'll here that xtreme OCing is cool agian now that Intel is hitting high clocks. I would love to see a 6 core AMD OCed. Anyhow, that is impressive.

The only problem i read about was the cold bug around 6.2-6.4Ghz. This is shaping up to be quite powerful.

If we compared in the server market clock to clock x5500 vs 2435 is very close so that means AMD needs 1.5 cores for every nehalem core, that means a 8-9 core AMD Deneb can most likely be very comparative with this thing "MCM anyone"??

Thuban has to be released and in prices around $600. If i9 is $1000 a thuban around $600-$700 would make sense "People considering to buy i7 950/975 and the i9 would be potential targets"

You could at least credit the source :up:

i assume cpu-z reads the voltage incorrectly :) looks great

will it play crysis? ;)

@Bobbylite, I think it's correct.
Shamino said he doesn't want to use 2v... yet :caution:

didn't I7 hit 10,000 cpu points at like 5.7ghz? or at least close to it.

i7 will hit 10k around 5.1-5.2 depending on os

AMD will need an MCM of Istanbul chips to compete with this. With this ES chip hitting 6GHz all cores stable it is going to positively wreck all the 3D records. I think these hit the market before planned 6 core chips from AMD, right? New AMD chips with new chipsets in Spring 2010?

32 bit vs 64 bit always comes down to it...

What if AMD's six-core does 7 Ghz 3D Stable or such?

It won't.

AMD will need 32nm and LHe to hit 7GHz through 3D06, 45nm has trouble hitting 6.1-6.2GHz through 3D06 on LN2.

why not 7 GHz with x6 Thuban and LHe? I think, its possible...chips are better and better (from x4 940 to x4 965) for OC (not only AIR, but too with extreme cooling). And we know not exactly, if next Phenoms will at 45 or 32nm. AMD dont said nothing about 32nm SOI, only about 32nm high-k for Orochi (doesnt mean, 32nm soi for next generation new Phenoms :) )

AMD will sort of use a 32nm SOI/HKMG process. Intel currently is using a Bulk/HKMG

30% increase for 50% more core/threads.
