I wish to purchase a Radeon 4770 video card.
Does anyone have an opinion on what brand is superior?
I had decided on the XFX Radeon HD 4770 AYDFC Video Card – I saw some good reviews; I liked the cooling setup, etc. I guess the truth is that XFX has 2 cards. One is HD 4770AYDFC and sells around $115.00 the other is HD-477A-YDLC and sells around $100.00. I guess I thought, “If they make two, the highest price will have to be best”.
Now I see Newegg has “Deactivated Item XFX - HD-477A-YDFC radeon hd 4770 512mb gddr5 pci-e 2.0”. I don’t know why, but it blew my theory.
Now I have decided I am not smart enough to have an honest opinion about the best card. I know nothing except price and I know that means nothing on different brands. I have no idea what they are talking about when they say: Memory Clock 800 MHz, 3.2 Gbps so it’s time for me to beg for help.

Please, will someone give me his or her opinion as to which brand you think would be my best choice?

I want to use on this old computer:
ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe
AMD Phenom 9850 BLACK
4GB DDR2 800
WinXP Pro SP3
2- 600W Power Supply

Thanks, bleeda

I had a reference sapphire and the xfx with the upgraded cooler. IMO get the cheapest you can find and flash it to asus bios to have soft mods. The 4770 refrence cooler is way more than adequate even after pushing the voltage.
