I just got an i7 board and chip and was wondering what the correct block orientation is and if the small rice size dot of TIM in middle is the best method still?

I got a EK supreme LT block btw.

I dunno about the orientation for that block, but the TIM method depends on the TIM used.

Do you have the DFI X58? I fitted my EK Supreme LT like this:

TIM - I like to spread a thin layer evenly over the IHS using a old credit card - I used MX-3.

Hesmelaugh tested the blocks orientation effects. Check out his
review. Vapor will be testing it too. I tested it bit I forgot my results lol

Socket arm perpendicular to water flow iirc (Just checked on a pic I had and yeah, flow perpendicular to socket arm).

Have the same block, difference is about 3c @ high wattage, negligible at a mild overclock, zero at stock. Depending on what you're aiming to get then it may be just as worthwhile to rotate the block to north/south water flow for easier bleeding.
