Hi,

i've just got my hands on a pair of 73gb raptors which i want to use for my OS.
Obviously i'm going to want the best speed, do i do a raid 0 or 1?

raid 0 for speed, raid 1 for backup and safety.

How much did you pay for the Raptors?

oh ok. I was wondering why someone would want to go pick up some of the old 73GB raptors these days with SSDs on the rise. That is a great price though, definitely worth it.

i paid £0 or $0 ;-) nice price. Be careful with choosing a clustersize. In a two disk array try to pick a size 1/2 of the avg. fetch size, e.g. avg. fetch =1024, thus 1/2 of 1024 = 512.
