afternoon, im new here so heya :D

Im going to be water cooling in a month or two time so i want to get as prepared as possible.

My first question, I was originally going to use the TFC 480RAD then lately i have been seeing alot of people using XSPC rads.
I was wondering which would be better for my single cpu loop, i will either be using 4 P12's or 4 1600rpm S-Flex's. I have read that TFC perform well under medium speed fans (~1500rpm) but am not sure about what the XSPC rads like. Please note i can get either rad for the exact same price.

My second question, I will be using Feser Active UV Blue Hose and Distilled water, BitsPower True Silver and Silver Shining Compression Fittings. Will i need anything other than the Silver from the True Silver fittings to fight off algae/anything else?
This is the colour i want to achieve: http://imgshack.info/images/ercy5if2duowldj1h6e.jpg

My third question, Will the 1600RPM S-Flex's give cooler temperatures since they push about 10cfm more air per fan? The P12 is 19dBa and the S-Flex 28dBa, are the S-flex that much louder?

My forth question yeh i know too many sorry :p:
I am only going to cool the cpu, will using a 480 and a 240rad together have any improvement over a single 480?

cheers

EDIT: almost forgot my most important question, With the TJ07, can i simply screw the hdd cages straight into the 5.25" bay? or do i need an adaptor?

thanks again

1. Fans used in rads depends on the FPI (Fins per inch) of the rad. The RX series by XSPC have 8-10 (mostly 8) and work great with medium speed fans. I've never heard of the TFC rads so I cannot comment on them.

2. I would recommend using some sort of biocide (PTNuke or Silver Killcoils)

3. S-flex's are terrible fans that burn out quickly. You are better off getting some Medium or High speed yate loons (which work great with those rads)

4. Depends on alot of things. Your cooling can only be as cool as your ambient temp. And using 1 pump and 2 rads might be straining the rads a little bit. I'm using a XSPC RX360 rad right now and my i7 at 4.2ghz (1.28vcore) is around 62ºc under full load for 14 hours. It all depends on what you are cooling, which waterblock, ambient temps, ect ect.

Side note: In your picture that 120 rad is cooling something different than the 360 rad? Either that or it goes CPU Block -> 120 rad -> GPU blocks

1. Have a look at the reviews for the XSPC and TFC rads here:
http://www.skinneelabs.com/

They will tell you exactly how they perform with various speed fans -- he only has reviews for the triple size rad's, but you can assume that the performance scales equally with each rad.

2. The silver shining fittings are not actually silver I don't think. The True Silver ones are... and I read somewhere you need about 4 of them in your loop, but assuming you have that, you should be fine with nothing else but distilled water.

3. Have a look at this fan review:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=170224

Not really sure tho, since I think there might be some newer Notura's since this was written?

4. Yes it will, but probably not much. You can have a play around with the water cooling estimator spreadsheet to get some idea of roughly what difference it will make:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=206542

5. Not sure, I think you need an adapter... but haven't used the case. I am sure someone will know the answer tho! :)

that's the slipstreams with their sleeve bearings, not the s-flex's!!!
ahhhhhh

please read this review. mentions both the S-Flex, Slipstream
