Bought a pair of vintage speakers a few weeks ago.

Refresh. And they're original Polk SDA-1's. Technically a transitional model; before the standard Polk SDA-1's came on the scene.

They're actually not that bassy. Four 6.5" woofers and a 12" passive radiator. The passive radiator is just that; passive. It works as a diaphragm. They're quite well balanced, especially in the bass department. But yeah, it's plenty easy to kick the bass out of them with a little bit of EQ'ing.

Added a few more. THe first few were like the day after I got the speakers, the later are from a few days ago.

Speakers: transitional Polk SDA-1 w/ RTA-style SDA cable
Preamp: (unused): Kenwood KC-991
Poweramp (dead!): Kenwood KP-991
Integrated amp: Sherwood AI-1110
Sources: Kenwood KT-591 (Radio tuner), DP-R891 (5-CD player), Apple iPod (4G) 16GB (/Aux.), Sony DVP-S360 (DVD player)

Also shown are just some generic Sony speakers (missing two actually) running off of a few-years-old Sony AVR. I don't have the VCR or Beta players hooked up to either system, though the DVD player is hooked up to both. Using S/PDIF Optical to the AVR and RCA to the integrated amp.

These SDA-1's are matching serial numbers, by the way. Very lucky in that regard!

The speaker wire used are 8' lengths of #16, tipped on the amp end with screw-crimp gold-plated pins and on the speaker side are bare copper wire.
