Including VAT or no?

£250 includes VAT yes. All prices over here are published with VAT alraedy added on pretty much.

Win7 is at that price as all UK suppliers have bought into a pre-order discount thing with microsoft. At the end of august i believe, prices will double

correct

its 15% value added tax then import tax then duty tax on those,, tbh its probably only a little higher you would be suprised at low margins from resellers...

I dropped $599 for a 60gb on launch. Now 4 years later still no GT5 and they are much cheaper and I don't really use the backwards compat any more.

How much is 250 pounds in USD? If it's $325 (~1.3:1 exchange), then that's not really much more than you'd pay in the U.S. with sales tax depending upon the state. We're about to get the VAT too, though, and that just plain sucks quite like nothing else. Taxes and spending plus inflation are already way too high in the U.S., but I guess it's not enough for the Democratic Party until 10% of the population is homeless on the streets.

its a 1.61 exchange atm so $400 lol

but then if we add on import tax duty tax(which is a lot higher for us cos we dont like sony apparently lol), tax on those taxes then VAT on top of that..

it probably means we end up paying the same.. i dont think we are getting ripped off.. we just pay for a lot of "free" stuff like medical stuff etc..

+ it is rip off britain for taxes

Like said before, it's the taxes and import duties more than anything. In Canada everything is more expensive in the states, often its cheaper to buy it from the south and have it mailed here than buy the exact same item from a Canadian retailer.

Well, the government has to pay for all those cameras somehow...they have to keep an eye on everything all the citizens do (whom they completely distrust).

I find it funny how some governments (not just the UK...they're just the worst offenders) find it necessary to have cameras on nearly every square foot of space, yet are shocked and bewildered when the people don't trust them.
