View Full Version : Anyway to trick the server into sending more work?

GPUGRID says I reached maximum quota of 4 WU's. I tried to get more but nooooooo....I have de-installed BOINC and will reload after F@H WU's completed. Is there anyway to trick the server into sending more work without having to do all of this?

BTW, 192's are working fine for me.

I've run into that too. once you get 4 wu's on the machine in one day it wont send any until tomorrow. the only time it happens to me is when I error one out early. but I bet it happens on highend multi gpu machines a lot when they sail through wu's. no idea how to bypass it.

These 2 rigs are just throwing errors:

And this 1 could probably use a good look-see....

Also, there used to be a 15 WU/day limit....I thought there still was, but it may have been changed. With my mopeds I don't really keep up with those things.....:D

Here's a link to your Gpugrid account. (http://www.ps3grid.net/home.php)

You may need to login, but if you check "stay logged in" or whatever--it will keep you logged in until you run anti-spyware, etc.

It took me probably 5 minutes(!) to surf through all of your rigs to see what was going on.

You can scan the results for all of your PCs via Tasks>view to see if there are errors, etc. If so, then you can check your rigs. Or, an easier way--after you find errors--is to click "Task ID click for details"> computer ID (#####). I only have 4 rigs going, so mine are pretty much memorized. But you may want to go through and jot down the host ID ##### for each rig to save yourself sometime in the future.

Between your account and boincview--it's pretty easy to keep tabs on things. Does take some familiarity...especially with interpreting subtle things in boincview. But it's just like F@H or any other project/tool---just gotta get used to it.

Let me know if this makes sense to you....

I'm not seeing anything on the forums over there. I found 1 WU stuck this morning using 1 whole core (cpu). I restarted boinc and it went away. Not sure what's going on....have you checked any of the WUs to see if they are the same or similar? Might want to take a peek at the quorum and see if they are faulting out for others also. They are faulting out very early, so that's consistent. My guess is either bad WUs or back to the Nvidia driver/200 series cards issue.

EDIT: Hard to tell. Most of your wingmen are still in progress, but you do have a lot of wingmen that errored out also, so that means the issue is most likely not on your end.

Try a restart of boinc, then a reboot if necessary....

I just noticed My messages are are similar to Mike's, but I am on a 4 wu limit as Dak.

I checked errored tasks and has been good for over a week and most errors were during download. I have only had a few computation errors, but I think that was from power failure and possibly from playing with my gpu clocks.

I'm kinda thinking I might have had a driver failure, and a reboot restarted the driver correctly. because it's back to normal now. http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=43100 this machine is my only xp machine, and it's a dual gts250 rig. all are on 190.38

I have 2 dual gts 250 rigs,
one in win7x64 http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=36835
and one in xp32 http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=43100
both have occasional error runs, and that's just the way they are. dunno why. I figured it was the dual gts250 BS. but it may be the way the driver is handling the dual cards, dunno.

my other rig is a single gtx260 rig in win7x64 and it almost never has errors http://www.gpugrid.net/results.php?hostid=37124

all are on 190.38, but they had the same behavior in 182.50 so I really think it's either the cards or the dual card thing and a crappy driver.
