Hi all - I have a d-tek block on my 775 Q6600 quad that I will be removing. I don't know which version this is - how can I check? Can I make this block work on a i7 or what is the best block for an i7 right now?

Thanks!

The d-Tek is not the best. But it still works good. If u want to use it on I7 u just have to buy the 1366 mount set.

Whether you have the Fuzion V1 or V2, this adapter (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/fuincoi7lprs.html) will convert it to the 1366 mount. Another plus is it comes with the backplate !

i compared this to other waterblocks...i get bsods with the dtek....but stable oc's with other waterblocks...

if you overclock to the extreme...get another block..but if you oc just enough...then it should be fine...

If I get hardcore with it I may just make a waterblock. $65+ is a bit much lately I've been using a friends CNC mill :) I will pick up the adapter, thanks guys! Is there a way to tell if its v1 or v2?

I concur with Hondacity...

I only ended up running the Fuzion V2 in all my CPU block testing. I ran into the same BSOD's and stability with the V1, and the Vapor tested the nozzles, so there was no point in testing those.

The Fuzion V1 is flat on top, the v2 is more of a domed shape.

If you do wish to do some OCing, you may want to toss another $20 in the pot and get a very good low-cost block (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708019).

You can make it work, but you might be better off upgrading to the HK 3.0 for your I7.

If you are curious about I7 blocks, here is one of the many tests: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=224976
