okay so heres specs of the system to start off with:

DFI LP DK 790FX-M2RS
AMD 5400+ X2 BE
4x 1gb Corsair 1066 Dominator running @ 800mhz
250gb WD hdd
Lite on DVD-RW
Corsair 850w PSU
ATI HD4870x2
Running on vista ultimate x64

So heres the problem im having. i can reinstall vista fresh, throw WoW or anything on there that i want to and it works fine for a couple days. anywhere from 3-5 days after the install i will start getting errors from both windows and my games. ive swapped ram, hdd, and DVD drive with known working parts from a 775 build i also have. i could re-create the problems with the swapped hardware so i RMA'd the motherboard, got it back about 5 days ago and the problems started last night. the only thing i havent changed are the video card (shouldnt matter i dont think) and the processor. i have another AM2 processor i can try in it but its gonna take at least 3 days before i figure out if thats the problem or not so i was just looking for some insight here first.

the boards bios is flashed to the most recent revision, all firmware and drivers are up-to-date. im honestly stumped with this one.

What about swapping your power supply?

did u stresstest the system with a program like prime95 or occt?
did u set the timings for ur ram manually? dfi is always picky with ram timings.

Maybe the memory is causing the crashes? Failing sticks can have similar effect on Windows(corrupt files, crashes etc.) .Can you try with only one stick of the same ram or better yet test whole RAM config in dos with memtest or gold memory?

when i RMA'd the board i ordered a brand new 4gb kit or the corsair memory, set timings to 5-5-5-15 in bios set voltage to 2.1 as per the sticker but instead of running at 1066 their running at 800 which should make them less likely to be the problem in my eyes, ill try memtesting them just to see if something may be wrong there.

this system is only 2 months old, kinda disappointing me :(

Try running them with HTT266 for 1066mhz with 5-5-5-15 timing. Just use 800divider with stock timing and bump that HTT up;)

Remeber to lower the HT so its at 2000mhz while running HTT@266

so i ran memtest86+ and got some interesting results. loaded into vista and got the JDEC profile for 800mhz operation, set my memory to that and started going stick by stick... at 3 minutes in the 1st stick has exactally 100 errors. ill post back after i go through all the sticks to see if its the same and see if u all cant help me in getting these babies stable or if the ram is just bad.

so it seems that i just have a bad stick, havent got one single error on either of the other 3 sticks so far, guess ill be sending back a kit.

If you have time, run 2 passes on the sticks...I've had sticks fail before after I was about 1 1/2 hour (2 passes) in.

what about the HDD, a 250GB drive should be old by now and it could be dieing

i ran 2 passes on the 4 new sticks in there and seems that i just had a bad kit, version 1.x of the dominators are micron based IC's and im guessing they just had their fair share. the 250gb hdd is a new WD caviar blue i ordered with the comp

all is working fine now, loaded up into the vista install that was giving me errors before and its running like a brand new one. wow is no longer giving me errors, warhammer is crash free, and aion gets to the login screen :D

mind to provide more details on the errors?
most likely is PSU
