Just a thought....either go with it or not but as a noob I'm seeing stuff happen that I'm not sure of the fix for or even if it needs fixing....so here goes...What's this?

I think you have offended some deity. Just a guess....

Try a reboot, usually works for the lesser Deities.

I think this is related to what dak is reporting http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=230561

mine aren't doing it right now, but it happened to me before. IIRC, I think I rebooted and then manually went to the projects tab and clicked "UPDATE" on each project. then "do netowrk communication" from the advanced menu.

Guys, are these just with rigs with more that 1 gpu? I have been running wcg and gpugrid on my i7 with a GTX260 for 17 days without a reboot. I have had zero issues. I keep seeing peoples troubles and I don't understand

You are in the transfers tab. I have seen it, but it's only lasted for seconds...and I've only seen it very recently, because my network is down and I am having to manually UL/DL 2 rigs. My guess is that the server is just busy for a minute...maybe a bit longer. You should not need a reboot. Clicking update should do it.

I had it stuck for a few hours...rebooted and then manually went to the projects tab and clicked "UPDATE" on each project as per Mike's post above....it uploaded those waiting then I ended up aborting that one and it then started downloading a new set of 4

Just now gone to 190 drivers again as the past 24hours seem to have gone ok....we'll see :yepp:

I have that problem on 1 rig that I know of and its a bunch of BS! If you dont pay attention who knows how long your gpu's will sit idle.

I just started noticing it on one of my rigs running vista on the 180.50 drivers (I believe) my other 2 rigs run win7 and I havent noticed them doing it yet(well at least not that I am aware of).

now that you mention it; I went to chech the rig that has problems and it did it again; THIS IS A BUNCH OF CRAP! It almost appears that after it finishes a wu the download locks up. It used to run fine till I noticed this the other day; now its an everyday thing.

No wonder my rac isnt as high as it should be....

I may have to try another driver or something.

Could this be network related? Are the effected machines wireless? Just a thought.

<Knocks on wood> I run vista 64 and have not had this problem. Might add there is always 3 in queue.

couple of gpugrid forum threads posted recently on this error: looks like it's a problematic HIV wu and they cancelled them yesterday, but there are remnants left. so we have to abort them manually until the remnants are gone.

FROM GPUGRID users:

I have had two issues today where a HIV workunit (635688 and 582818) stopped downloading with a http error, on all files in the package afaik. Even after letting it run its course it did not download. Eventually I had to cancel the workunits to keep going. Is this a workunit related issue ? The connection with the server was fine, other packets right before it and after it downloaded fine. What is the best course of action in cases like these ?

Two more cases today. I have noticed that the issue seemingly is caused by THREE download threads being started simultaneously whereas normally only TWO threads are allowed. Hope this provides some insight into the issue.

We stopped some HIV WUs two days ago, but they left behind remnants. Please abort them at will.
We'll try to cancel them server-side asap, thanks for your patience.

ok, I just got one of these.

1. abort task from "task tab" (highlight the task and click abort)
2. update project from "project tab" (highlight gpugrid and click update)

and it goes away. no reboot needed.
