When I joined Naja and a few others we were rank #71. Reading Poppa's thread we have moved up nicely and looking at the team count we seem to be growing. We have been actively posting lately too.

Is it time to go main-line and move into the big world of the "Xtreme Teams" section? Would this help a bit more in recruiting?

Just a thought.

Regards,
Bob

If you'd asked me when I first started this with xp and old drivers I'd have said definitely cos it is no problem for noobs (like me)

Since I tried with Vista and new drivers etc I'm not so sure....but soon probably

The key here to encouraging high levels of membership could be that it should be painless for noobs....install and forget almost

Then again, XS members are more likely to persevere than most......so maybe Ill sit on the fence a little longer and say ....If my experiences are the exception then go for it else wait a week or two till one or two things are sorted.

I am reminded of Anthony Hopkins' "mission difficult" speech in MI2.

This is not MediocreSystems :yawn2:, it's XtremeSystems!:explode2:
Our "noobs" probably know more than senior <insert other site> members.

I had zero problems bringing up the last two 260-216s I threw on here.

It was rough when I first joined up, BOINC wasn't working well, the drivers were hit or miss, and the GPUGrid guys were busting their butts to get it off the ground. Now I don't feel the need to look at it everyday and it seems more routine. (to me anyway..)

With these last two, I just used BOINC 6.6.20, the drivers that came on the install CDs, and away it went.

Bob

I figured out why I was running outta work. I had STUCK downloads on 3 different rigs...Keep your eye open for this issue. Hmmm, I wonder how long 6 GPU's were sitting idle???

I have this problem on at least 1 rig I know of too. pisses me off:mad:
I believe message says something like failed to download will rety in 3 hrs or something along those lines.
Even if you try to manually get it to retry it fails= a lot of downtime. They need too resolve this issue.
